But “me-too” imitated products seem to be the rule rather than the exception. So Which best practices have you built into your development process so every project delivers a unique superior product?

Read more about them in our articles “Uncovering the Best Practices in Product Development” and ”Stage-Gate® Process for New Product Success”. Implementing Stage-Gate® in your company
Furthermore, an external Stage-Gate® expert can be part of the group. Most companies lack experience in designing Stage-Gate® processes. An experienced consultant can speed up the process considerably by providing experience and examples of solutions from other companies. The design work and implementation are often divided into three steps (see figure). The results from each step are assessed and approved by the company’s management before continuing to the next step. It is also important to involve the future users of Stage-Gate® in the process in order to get their approval and ownership of the final result. Even a perfect process will come to nothing if it is not accepted by the users. More information about StageGate Recommended books by Robert G.
