A Message from Dr. Robert Cooper
International Seminar in your own company

Dear Colleague

For some years, I have watched as companies struggle to get their idea-to-launch process working properly. Yes, everyone agrees that having a new product process or Stage-Gate® system is a good thing – after all, all the leading product developers such as Lego, Procter & Gamble, Siemens and 3M have such a system in place. But too many firms seem to have problems:
  • Projects take far too long
  • Gates aren’t happening properly
  • Good projects aren’t getting the resources they need, and sometimes bad projects linger around too long
  • There are too many ongoing projects for our resources
  • Good data and solid front end work on projects are missing
  • And so on.

These are major issues that plagues many companies, and seriously detract from performance. And they demand answers and solutions if your product innovation effort is to be truly successful.

To meet this need, I will be offering this brand new seminar on Stage-Gate® Innovation – the Next Step. This is an intensive two-day seminar on how to improve your gating and portfolio management process to realize higher success rates and increased profits. It is based on principles outlined in my popular book: Winning at New Products plus new developments since then.

In this seminar, we will spend two days getting into how to attack and solve some of the problems you face getting new products to market on time and profitably. For example, we’ll look at ways to improve and streamline your idea-to-launch process, at Stage-Gate® XPress and Lite for smaller projects, and at ways to accelerate the gate decisions through “lean gates with teeth”. Many companies try to do too many projects and often the wrong ones, so we’ll look at ways to select the right number and mix of projects as part of your portfolio management approach. Finally getting the right information and doing the right amount of up-front homework in projects (how much is enough?) are topics we’ll cover.

So please look at the seminar brochure (pdf) to see more details on the seminar, and do join us for solid insights into accelerating your new product process, learning what best practices some businesses are successfully applying. If you can bring some colleagues to the event, so much the better… because some solutions require effort and it’s always good to have a small team rather just one person return to your company to try to implement what you have learned. We’ll see you there!
